Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you use SplitHaus, we collect:

  • Your name and email address from your Google account (via OAuth)
  • Reservation and scheduling data you create within the app
  • Property configuration data entered by property administrators
  • Usage activity within properties you belong to (reservation history, etc.)

We use Supabase session cookies to keep you signed in. On marketing and onboarding pages, we also use product analytics tools (PostHog and Hotjar) to understand how visitors use those pages. We do not use advertising cookies or build ad profiles.

2. What We Do NOT Collect or Sell

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties
  • We do not collect payment information directly (handled by Stripe)
  • We do not track you across other websites
  • We do not build advertising profiles

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to operate the coordination features of SplitHaus:

  • Displaying your name to other members of your shared property
  • Sending reservation confirmation and notification emails
  • Enabling property administrators to manage scheduling
  • Improving the reliability and performance of the service
  • Understanding how visitors use our marketing and onboarding pages so we can improve them

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your data will be scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days. Property reservation history may be retained in anonymized form for aggregate analytics.

5. Third-Party Services

SplitHaus uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Google OAuth — sign-in authentication
  • Stripe — subscription billing (when applicable)
  • PostHog — product funnel analytics (events only; session replay is off)
  • Hotjar (Contentsquare) — heatmaps and session recordings on marketing and onboarding pages only (not on authenticated property pages)

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data. See Hotjar's privacy policy.

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie set by Supabase to keep you authenticated. On marketing and onboarding pages (for example the home page, sign-up, and property setup wizard), PostHog and Hotjar may set cookies to measure page usage, heatmaps, and session recordings. These tools are not loaded on authenticated property pages inside the app. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability (export your reservation history)

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of SplitHaus after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
